THE WORLD IS GRIPPED AS DOMINO’S HERO DELIVERS #PIZZAONATRAIN TO COMEDIAN CHRIS RAMSAY

 

Yesterday evening, British comedian Chris Ramsey caused an internet sensation, when he challenged Domino’s Pizza UK to deliver him a pizza on his East Coast train travelling from London Kings Cross to Newcastle.

 

Around 8.30pm and creating the Twitter hashtag #pizzaonatrain, Ramsey, username @IAmChrisRamsay with 290,000 followers, sent a tweet to Domino’s Pizza UK requesting the unusual delivery.

 

For the next hour or so, thousands of Twitter users around the world were on tender hooks to see if Domino’s could manage to make the delivery and by 10.40pm, #pizzaonatrain was the biggest trending topic worldwide with 11,937 Twitter users getting involved. It also received support from fellow comedians David Mitchell, Sarah Millican and even the East Coast train staff.

 

Shortly before 9.30pm, Chris tweeted: “This will be the tensest hour and twenty minutes of my life. I feel like Jack Bauer! ”

 

The dedicated team at the Domino’s Pizza Doncaster store on Carr House Road, were up for the challenge and managed to deliver a delighted Chris a medium pizza with meatballs, jalapenos and green peppers to his train as it pulled in to Doncaster station for a few seconds, plus a couple of extras for the train staff and some fellow passengers.

 

A photograph confirming he had managed to re-board the train with the pizzas was retweeted and favourited more 8,000 times.

 

Shanice Moses, 19, the delivery driver from the Domino’s Pizza Doncaster branch and hero of the hour said: “With any delivery it’s about team work and I’m so pleased we managed to pull this one off. It felt the whole world was watching so this has to be one of my best deliveries in history! Chris was as absolute legend and even gave me a generous tip!”
