CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF DOMINO’S PIZZA IN LUTON
- Domino’s is throwing its 30th bash where it all began in Luton – and you’re invited! -
Domino’s Pizza first opened its doors in the UK in Luton with its very first store on New Bedford Road 30 years ago - and what do you do when you turn 30? Take it back to the old school and party like it’s 1985!
Luton residents are invited to dust off their shell-suits, grab their bum-bags and head to Domino’s Luton Central on the 17th October from 12-3pm, to help celebrate the brand’s 30th anniversary in the UK. For early birds, there will be 100 free pizzas up for grabs for the first customers born in 1985*, 80s DJs spinning the decks, fire eaters, stilt walkers, face painting…and of course lots of cake; it’s a party not to be missed.
In addition, 30p from every qualifying order over £7.99 placed during the celebration week at the Luton and Dunstable stores will be given to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital.
To keep the party going for Luton’s pizza fans:
• All guests who attend will receive a special Domino’s key fob, which entitles local residents to 30% off pizza for the next three months
• Customers can enjoy the 1985 price of a large pizza at just £7.99** on collection with its Anniversary Deal
• Every order placed between Friday and Sunday of the celebration week will receive a ticket and will be in with the chance to win exciting prizes, such as free pizza for a year, champagne balloon ride, free food and drink, O2 show tickets and much more
The store's franchisee, Arshad Mahmood Yasin, is very proud to be the owner of the very first Domino's outlet. Starting as a driver with the first store in 1987, Archie, who lives in Luton, bought the store in 2001. He said: “It’s amazing to think our Luton store was the very first in the UK – and has been delivering freshly made pizzas to the local area since 1985. The best thing about turning 30 years old is that we have an excuse to throw a big party and invite our friends and neighbours over for a slice of two of everyone’s favourite things - pizza and cake! We’ve loved getting to know our customers and being part of the community - here’s to the next 30!”
Three things you didn’t know about Domino’s in Luton:
• Domino’s Luton has sold over 1.8million pizzas since it opened in 1985
• Top ranking pizzas are: Pepperoni Passion, Meateor, Mighty Meaty, Texas BBQ,Vegi Supreme
• There are three local Domino's store to choose from – Luton Central, Sundon Park and Dunstable
