THE MAN BRINGING A CULTURAL TWIST TO THE DOMINO’S MENU: ‘I LOVED TAKING CLASSIC INGRIDENTS AND BRINGING SOME SPICE TO THE TABLE’

Behind every mouth-watering slice from the nation’s best loved pizza company, lies a team of dedicated Domino’s employees, but the brains behind the brands newest pizza launch - The Ultimate Spicy Meatball pizza – isn’t one of the food innovation team, but Senior Store Manager, Chandandeep Singh.

Twelve months in the making and third of its kind in Domino’s ‘Ultimate’ range, the punchy new pizza is a labour of love for Chandandeep, whose creation pays homage to his Indian heritage.

The pizza was curated in Domino’s Solihull as part of Domino’s DomiChef competition – a company wide initiative encouraging store team members to show their talents in the kitchen and create their own recipes.

Chandandeep Singh, Senior Store Manager said: “Being Indian, I wanted to bring part of my heritage to the Domino’s menu. My culture thrives off spice and I personally love adding fiery twists to experiment with food at home, so the DomiChef competition was a great opportunity for me. I wanted people to experience an explosion of flavours in their mouth and The Ultimate Spicy Meatball does that.”

Topped with pepperoni, fan favourite pork meatballs, red onions, and sliced jalapeños, then drizzled with new spicy sriracha, Chandandeep says his creation “bridges the spice gap on the Domino’s menu and is like nothing they’ve done before”.

He continues, “It was a huge surprise to see my pizza shortlisted let alone chosen to roll out in stores across the UK and Ireland. They’re classic ingredients Domino’s fans know and love – but this combination will leave tastebuds tingling for more.”

Become the next Chandandeep…

Domino’s has announced they’re hiring 5,000 roles across the UK, as part of a fresh recruitment drive this September. With over 90 per cent of store managers beginning their Domino’s journey as a delivery driver or pizza chef, there are great opportunities for development within the brand. Some even go on to become franchise partners in their own right through the Domino’s Homegrown Heroes programme.

Speaking on the culture in store, Chandandeep says, “Working at Domino’s, there’s never a dull moment. The energy between the team is unmatched to anywhere else and I love being part of a team where we’re all in it together – more so during those busy moments as we have each other’s backs. There’s opportunity to grow your career with a clear progression path from the very first day and with exciting initiatives like DomiChef.”
