– Three quarters of loved-up Brits to stay in this 14tFebruary –
– Domino’s creates one-off engagement ring for the occasion –
Domino’s, the nation’s best loved pizza, has today released new research revealing that staying in really is the new going out with three-quarters (72 per cent) of couples planning to dine in rather than eat out this Valentine’s Day.
Cosying up on the sofa with food and a movie is the most popular way blissed out couples will be celebrating the annual celebration of love, with 62 per cent saying they prefer watching a film at home than going to the cinema. The research also revealed that one in 17 (six per cent) will be getting down on one knee to propose to their partner over a meal at home.
For partners planning to pop the big question over pizza, Domino’s has created a unique 22-carat gold, ‘money-can’t-buy’ diamond ‘en-crust-ed’ engagement ring. Only one ring has been made, and it will be given away to a lucky winner chosen at random as part of the Domino’s Valen-Dine-in Facebook event (which 3,000 people are already signed up to attend).
The pizza-maker says Valentine’s Day could be its biggest day of 2017 with 475,000 pizzas expected to be freshly hand-made to order throughout the day – and a staggering 1,400 pizzas ordered a minute over dinner. Over 4.2 million slices will be eaten in total on this February, 14th – and 6pm is expected to be the peak time for date night deliveries.

We’re constantly innovating to make our customers’ lives easier - and our new pizza engagement ring is the ultimate gift for someone planning to pop the question this 14th February.
