Domino’s the nation’s best loved pizza, is celebrating the official opening of its new store in Leopardstown, famed for its horse racing festivals and Ladies Days, with a unique fashion statement created by renowned milliner, Margaret O’Connor.
The wide brimmed, monochrome, perforated pleather hat measures 68cm in diameter and takes inspiration from the Domino’s logo as well as the traditional game of dominoes. It was created with Audrey Hepburn and Constance Markievicz in mind, focussing on quality and innovation.
The head piece is to be donated for auction to Domino’s charity partner, Barretstown where it is expected to raise in excess of €1,200, at their 25th Anniversary Gala Ball. Ahead of the charity contribution, Domino’s Ambassador for Barretstown and actress and model, Michele McGrath wore the hat at a fashion shoot with high profile photographer Evan Doherty.
Commenting on the donation, Dee Ahearn, Barretstown CEO said, We are so grateful to Domino’s for the donation of this unique headpiece from Margaret O’Connor. I am sure our supporters will love it and we hope it raises a significant amount at our 25th Anniversary Gala Ball. We would also like to thank Domino’s for their on-going support and wish them the very best of luck with their new store. The donations from Pennies, the online charity box on Dominos.ie, the annual fundraising and the Domino’s Amazing Race for Barretstown are incredibly beneficial and it’s great that these will increase with the opening of the store.”
Paul Dupuy, Ireland Marketing Manager for Domino’s said, “There’s a fantastic sense of community in Leopardstown and the locals really celebrate Ladies Day at the races, along with the rest of the country. It’s great to work with home-grown talent to create something unique that will benefit our charity partner, Barretstown. We hope it raises much-needed funds and creates a bit of a stir along the way. We’ve recruited nearly 30 store colleagues for the new store and have spent weeks training them to make our famous dough-licious pizzas. We look forward to many years delivering freshly handmade pizzas to the neighbourhood.“
The new store is located at Leopardstown Business Centre, Unit 5, Ballyogan Road, Sandyford, Dublin 18, where, from 11am to 5am, pizza fans can get their hands on firm favourites including the Pepperoni Passion and the Mighty Meaty as well as recent innovations like the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza. The store will also serve up the Delight pizza range, which has 650 calories per small pizza.
