Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice
Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice (NICH) has been our charity partner in Northern Ireland since 2009. Thanks to fundraising efforts by our amazing customers, colleagues, and Franchise Partners, we’ve raised over £171,000 to support their life-changing work.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
We’re beyond proud of our crucial partnership with Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice and are committed to helping the superstar team on the ground continue their one-of-a-kind work caring for babies, children, and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
In addition to helping fund clinical support offered by Children’s Hospice, Domino’s fundraising has helped make a wide range of activities at both locations possible. These include multi-sensory equipment, in-house events such as animal visits and respite for parents, as well as providing a relaxing space where families can make the most of their precious time together.
By visiting the Hospice for respite, parents get an opportunity to relax and alleviate some of their worries, while their child is cared for by specialists. It’s impossible to overstate how special respite can be for the family - because having a child with complex needs means there is very little time for the family to enjoy some basic pleasures. So, getting the chance to all sit round and enjoy something as simple a delicious hot meal together (and not have to worry abut clean up!) is so precious.
OUR PARTNERSHIPIN NUMBERS
These staff that we help fund are instrumental in caring for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and providing their families and loved ones with the support they need during their child’s stay at the Hospice and after they have passed.

The generosity of Domino’s, their colleagues, and their customers makes a real difference - bringing comfort, care, and precious moments to those who need it most.
On behalf of our nurses, doctors, and everyone at the Hospice, thank you for your kindness and commitment. Your support ensures that we can continue to be there for families when they need us most. Together, we are making a lasting impact, and we couldn’t do it without you!"
ABOUT NORTHERN IRELAND CHILDREN’S HOSPICE
The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as supporting their families and providing specialist advice to health and social care staff working with palliative children and young people.
Their children’s In-Patient Unit is called Horizon House and is based in Newtownabbey on the outskirts of Belfast. Horizon House celebrated 21 years of care for children in 2022. Over that time, the charity has provided specialist clinical care for children with some of the most complex health conditions in Northern Ireland.
"A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. We simply couldn’t continue to deliver our vital care without the kindness of the community and the Domino’s team!"
Clare Johnston, Corporate Relationship ManagerHorizon House provides Supported Short Breaks for children and their families, allowing them to take a break from their daily challenges of caring for a child with complex health needs and simply allowing them to spend time as a family. Their team provides social, emotional, and practical support for siblings, parents, carers, and the wider family to be there for them when they need our help.
Care does not stop at Horizon House, NICH provides care in the family home as well as partnering with the Health & Social Care Trusts to offer antenatal and palliative care support for parents and families in a hospital setting.
