Food waste

At a store level, every Domino’s pizza is freshly handcrafted to order, which helps keep food waste to a minimum. Store inventory is carefully managed with fresh food deliveries a minimum of three times a week, tailored to meet customer demand in the local area.

We agree with the belief that no good food should go to waste, especially when people are going hungry. For over four years, our supply chain centres have been partnering with FareShare, the UK’s largest food redistribution charity who help provide food to vulnerable people at schools, homeless shelters, and community cafes.

Through this partnership, we have been able to redistribute surplus food from our Supply Chain Centres to charities and community groups across the UK. In December 2020, we provided 40,000 meals over the difficult Christmas period, heightened by the impact of the Covid-19 situation. Just recently in September 2021, we hit a major milestone in our journey to eliminate food waste with 160,000 meals provided to FareShare.

This year, we also kicked off our partnership with FoodCloud in Ireland, a non-profit that also sees surplus food donated to those who need it most.
