DOMINO’S OPENS 50TH STORE IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

A significant milestone towards achieving 75 store target

€1.00 for every Pepperoni Passion sold goes to Barretstown

Domino’s Ireland, the nation’s best-loved pizza, has today opened its 50th store in the Republic of Ireland in Ringsend, Dublin, highlighting significant progress towards achieving its ambition of 75 stores in the market.

The first Domino’s store in the Republic of Ireland opened nearly 30 years ago, introducing menu favourites such as Mighty Meaty and Vegi Supreme to Irish pizza fans, and the brand has since grown to more than 1,250 colleagues. Creating around 25 jobs per store, the target of 75 stores will deliver an additional 625 job opportunities, ranging from pizza makers to store managers.

The new Ringsend store illustrates locals’ appetite for its great tasting, freshly handmade pizzas. Last year, Domino’s served over 4.6 million pizzas to Irish customers, 18 every minute.

To celebrate the 50th store opening, Domino’s will donate €1.00 to its charity partner, Barretstown for every Pepperoni Passion sold on Wednesday 12 September 2018. Since 2004, Domino’s has raised over €300,000 in support for Barretstown’s great work in offering free, specially designed camps and programmes for children living with serious illness and their families.

Commenting on the milestone, David Wild, Chief Executive Officer of Domino’s said:

“We’re delighted to have opened our 50th store, and it couldn’t be more fitting it’s in Dublin, where the country’s first Domino’s store opened in 1991. I would like to thank our world class franchisees and team members for the role they’ve played in reaching this milestone and our ongoing success.

“Our relentless focus on great products, service and value continues to resonate well with customers, particularly our progress in digital. The Irish market offers significant growth opportunities, and we remain confident, together with our franchisees, in achieving our 75 store target.”
