rising cost of living, as shown by Domino’s own research

26 September 2022: Domino’s, the nation’s best loved pizza company, is hiring over 10,000 roles across the UK and Ireland as part of a fresh recruitment drive this September.

Not only is Domino’s getting ready for the busy festive season, but this year it is also gearing up for the first winter international football championship – set to be watched by a record-breaking 5bn people around the world1. With a staggering 10 million pizzas estimated to be made during this peak period, Domino’s is calling upon budding delivery drivers, in-store staff, and pizza makers to join its winning squad.

The recruitment drive comes as many workers are looking at additional employment opportunities to help boost their income as the cost-of-living increases in the UK. A recent poll2 carried out by Domino’s found over a quarter (28%) of adults are considering taking on a second job to support their finances. Of those who are considering additional employment, the key factors they are looking for are flexible hours which work around their existing job (44%) and private/family life (35%), with a quarter citing a reliable income is key (26%).

Domino’s offers flexible shifts to fit around existing schedules, and crucially, team members know in advance when they will be working and how much they will earn. They provide job security, on-the-job training, and a fun and friendly culture to work in. Experience is not essential, as managers provide training for all levels and there are lots of progression opportunities for those looking for longer term careers.

To help spread the word of their recruitment drive, Domino’s has been working with their own homegrown hero and Euro-winning Lioness, Lucy Bronze. Lucy worked at the Headingley Leeds store and features in their new recruitment advert which can be watched here. Having worked at Domino’s whilst studying at University and also training for her football career, Lucy provides a perfect example of how a part-time role at Domino’s can be suited to work around your life.

Nicola Frampton, Operations Director, for Domino’s Pizza Group said: As we approach a busy period with two epic moments coming up, international football and the festive peak, we are excited to announce 10,000 new roles to support Domino’s during this bumper demand.

“Our research shows people are looking for flexibility but also want to be able to plan ahead. We offer a range of flexible in-store, driver, rider and cycling roles which are suited to those looking for additional employment opportunities right now. So, if the idea of baking or delivering hot, fresh and tasty pizza to our hungry customers and being part of a world-class squad is up your street, then Domino’s could be for you.”

Speaking of her time at Domino’s, Lucy Bronze said: “I loved working at Domino’s. It was an incredible experience, and I still look back on my time there very fondly. We were like a family, always having a laugh together as a team and while I learned a lot, I also made some fantastic memories. I’d recommend applying to work at Domino’s if you’re looking for a flexible role that can work around your daily life and want to have some fun along the way!”
