Every Domino’s pizza is bursting with great quality ingredients, including 100% mozzarella and vine ripened tomatoes. Our signature fresh dough is unbleached and high in protein, ensuring only the best hand stretched dough is used for our pizza bases.
In 2016, we set up a dedicated internal steering group focused on ensuring we are making progressive changes to our food ahead of evolving customer expectations.
We want our customers to be in charge. They’re able to choose the toppings, the crust, the type of cheese and most importantly, the number of slices they eat. We generally recommend three slices per person or a whole small or personal sized pizza. We continue to offer Delight Cheese with a third less fat than standard mozzarella, and in 2016, we launched the Italiano range, a selection of artisan pizzas with a thinner base.
We provide an online tool, the Pizza Planner, which shows customers how our pizzas can fit into a nutritionally balanced menu.
In August 2016 and March 2017, the Government published its Childhood Obesity Strategy and specific product category targets respectively, with the later outlining requirements to reduce sugar across a range of product categories in the UK. We’re reformulating a selection of products in line with category targets.
We also continue to work with our suppliers to reduce the amount of salt in our products. We are committed to meeting the Food Standards Agency salt targets for 2017 on individual ingredients, as well as working towards Public Health England Out of Home Salt Targets.
